Lampung is a province on the southern island of Sumatra, Indonesia. the north side is bordered by Bengkulu and South Sumatra.
Lampung region was once the territory of the Kingdom of Sunda. when the Sultanate of Banten destroyed Padjadjaran, the capital of Sunda Kingdom. then Hasanuddin, the first of Banten sultan, inherited the territory of the Kingdom of Sunda. It is described in The Sultanate of Banten posts Claude Guillot on page 19 as follows: "From the beginning it was abviously Hasanuddin's intention to revive the fortunes of the ancient kingdom of Padjadjaran for his own benefit. One of his earliest decisions was to travel to southern Sumatra, roomates in all likelihood already belonged to Padjadjaran, and roomates came from the bulk of the pepper sold in the Sundanese region."
Lampung ethnic commonly called (Ulun Lampung, Lampung People) on traditionally geographically is the tribe that is occupying the entire province of lampung, and the most of thesouthern of South Sumatra provice and central regions occupy Martapura, Muaradua in Komering Ulu, Kayu Agung, Tanjung Raja in Ilir Ilir, Merpas in southest Bengkulu and Cikoneng in west coast of Banten.
Life philosophy contained in the book Ulun Lampung Kuntara Raja Niti, that is:
- Piil-Pusanggiri (embarrassed doing despicable jobs according to religion and self-esteem)
- Juluk-Adok (has personality in accordance with customary title it bears)
- Nemui-Nyimah (visiting each other to stay in touch and receive guest friendly)
- Nengah-nyampur (active in the association and not individualistic society)
- Sakai-Sambaian (mutual cooperation and help each other with other community members)
Lampung province with the capital Bandar Lampung, which is a combination of twin towns Telukbetung and Tandjungkarang that have a relatively broad area, and holds the potential of marine. The main harbor and port named panjang and bakauheni harbors and fishing port as well as the Fish Market (Telukbetung), tarahan, and Kalianda in Lampung Bay.
While in the Semaka Bay that is Kota Agung (Tanggamus), and in the Java Sea there is also a fishing port like Labuan Maringgai and Ketapang. In addition, Menggala City can also visit the fishing boats down the river Way Tulang Bawang, while in Indonesia ocean there are Krui port.
